Gear for playing in a small room, and for getting it out of one

This site is for drummers and keyboard players who practice where the neighbors can hear and who load their own gear into a car on Friday night.

Each guide starts with the answer, then shows the numbers behind it. We haven't played these products. Every spec comes from a maker's page or a store listing, and we check each one against a second page before we print it. When two pages disagree, we leave the number out and tell you.

We're holding two guides, rolling keyboard cases and drum hardware cases. The inside measurements we found for the same case differ from one listing to the next, sometimes by an inch. A case that's an inch short is a case you return, so we won't print a size until two sources agree.

How the checking works

Every number gets a link and the date we read it. Prices are for one store on one day and move around. If a store's price and the maker's price differ, we say which is which.
